  • Half and Half and Heavy Cream- one for the wet ingredients of the meatballs and the other for the creamy sauce.
  • Onion and mushrooms for flavor and texture.
  • Salt, pepper, nutmeg and Worcestershire Sauce – all part of the flavor profile that perfectly accents the meatballs.

  • SUGAR– if you are not watching your sugar, brown or regular white sugars will work. If you wanted a more brown sugar taste, you can also find brown sugar substitute.
  • MUSTARD– yellow mustard for a smokier taste and smooth texture. Horseradish mustard for a slightly spicier glaze.
  • LEMON – for a sweeter glaze, use oranges in place of the lemons. Yum!
  • HAM– use a small smoked turkey or a whole small chicken. You can even find a low sodium version of ham.

🗹 RECIPE FAQ’S

Can I use a frozen ham?

You sure can. Thaw thoroughly first in the refrigerator. This could take some time so give yourself a couple of days to thaw.

What if I have a small air fryer?

You can cut the ham to fit, just like we did. We trimmed a bit off of the top and made sure it fit in the air fryer without over burning the whole ham.

Can I make this in the regular oven?

Yes! I love my oven and if you wanted to you could do it in a 375° oven for about 30-45 minutes covered with foil. Remove the foil and cook another 15-20 minutes uncovered. Glazing the same way.
