Sheet Pan Sliders
One of my favorite past times in the summer is to grill out. It’s not always feasible to do though. The main reason, and I hate to admit it but I will, I stink at grilling.
Yes, all shame aside, I fully admit I fail in this highly celebrated method of cooking. Therefore, Grilling is mans work at The Buttered Home.
Big D doesn’t mind. He loves to cook almost as much as I do. The cleaning, eh, not so much. That is why grilling is perfect for him.
There are a lot of times though, grilling just isn’t in the cards. Rain, needing to feed a big crowd unexpectedly, Big D being out of town, just to name a few.
These Bacon Cheeseburger sliders are the perfect answer to all of those issues. AND they are easily done on a sheet pan in the oven.

How to Make Bacon Cheeseburger Sliders
The secret to get a great grilled flavor without all of the smoke is the Southern Flavor seasoning. It provides a little grilled flavor as well as salt and pepper.
So I won’t keep you waiting any longer, here is your cookout in the kitchen recipe!
~ Ingredients ~
- 2 pounds lean ground beef
- 3 tablespoons Southern Flavor
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 10-12 strips of uncooked bacon
- 12 slices of cheese. I used Havarti, Pepper Jack and Cheddar
- 1/4 cup Duke’s Mayo
- 1/4 cup Dijon Mustard
- 1 tablespoon prepared Horseradish
- 12 pack of large dinner rolls or slider buns
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- Lettuce, Tomato, Pickles or whatever burger toppings you desire
~Method ~
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees. In a large bowl mix ground beef, salt, pepper, Southern flavor seasoning, Worcestershire sauce and onion. Mix well with hands. Divide mixture into two equal parts.
- Press one half of beef mixture on a lightly greased sheet pan. Place cheese on top in any pattern you desire. Next press the last half of the beef mixture into another layer on top.
- Top with strips of uncooked bacon tucking ends underneath meat. Bake for 30-40 minutes until it reaches your desired level of doneness. Pictured is 30 minutes for me. Make sure bacon is done and crispy on top. If you want it more crispy, turn on the broiler and watch it carefully for a minute or two. Meat is done when it reaches internal temperature of 145 degrees F.
- Allow to rest for 5-10 minutes.
Delicious sauce for the Bacon Cheeseburger sliders
~ To Finish ~
- Mix Dijon, Mayo and horseradish until smooth and creamy. Cut rolls, if not already pre cut, in the middle to form two halves.
- Spread Sauce on top and bottom. Using two large spatulas, carefully place super meat patty on top and place top bun on.
- Using a large knife, follow the lines of the rolls and cut accordingly.
- Top with your favorite Cheeseburger toppings and Enjoy! We love to make these PICKLES and dress these burgers with them!

Tips and Tricks
How do I know they are done?
The internal temperature of beef to be done is about 145 degrees. A good internal thermometer for cooking is a must in every home kitchen.
Is baking really as good as grilling?
There isn’t much as good as grilling but baking these with the right seasonings and the addition of the crispy bacon is a close second.
What kind of buns should I use?
We love using the Hawaiian rolls for these. They just make them a bit extra special. I am also a big advocate for using what you have on hand. Any dinner roll will work as the meat is a sheet and can be cut to fit whatever size you have.
Great Sheet pan bacon cheeseburger sliders the easy way!
No matter how you slice it, you just can’t beat this easy no frills, no grill way to have a cookout in your own kitchen! So easy, you may never grill sliders again!
I have to admit, Big D was even skeptical. I am happy to say, I now have a firm believer in him. LOL!
