HOW TO MAKE GREAT HOT DOGS IN THE INSTANT POT!
An easy party or cookout favorite, the Hot Dog has been around a very long time. They first emerged in the United States in the 1800’s with German immigrants. This flavorful little package has brought smiles to many faces over the years and can be found in all varieties.
Grilled Hot Dogs used to be my favorite and I still love them but since we started doing them in my Instant Pot, things have shifted. With the ease of the IP, you can dump and cook. No heating up the kitchen or waiting on the grill to get ready, these Hot Dogs are so full of delicious flavor, you won’t miss a thing!
~ Ingredients ~
8-24 Hot Dog Franks, we like Nathan’s
¼ cup Diced Onion
⅛ cup minced garlic
⅛ teaspoon Chili Powder
12 oz. Beer, room temperature
~ Method ~
Place Hot dogs on a trivet or just on the bottom, if you prefer in the Instant Pot. Add in garlic, onions, chili powder and beer.
Close lid, seal vent and set to manual or pressure cook for 3 minutes. (1 minute for dogs with no casings)
Once cooking is done, carefully do a quick release with a pair of tongs or oven mitt. Once all pressure has been released, carefully remove lid.
Serve and enjoy
What makes these Instant pot Hot dog so good?
Easy. Number one, they are easy. Everything always tastes better when someone else cooks it and the Instant Pot is virtually the same. The other delicious fact about these Hot Dogs is that they are full of flavor. The onions, garlic and chili powder give them a smoky, spicy but not hot flavor. The beer adds a whole different level of flavor as well.
So don’t settle for plain jane hot dogs on the stove or grill. Kick up your dogs with a punch of great flavor!
