Tips for the Perfect Hot Dog in the Instant Pot
Ginger ale is a really good option. You want something sort of hoppy and fizzy. Any soda will work but be careful, you need the fizz and earthy flavors, not so much the sugar! If you don’t have soda, water will work just fine.
No, one 12 oz beer will work just fine no matter the size of your Pressure cooker. No adjustment to the liquid or time to cook for more hot dogs. You can even place them in your basket if need be.
We love all beef franks but this recipe is so full of flavor, you won’t know the difference no matter what brand you choose.
What makes these Instant pot Hot dogs so good?
Easy. Number one, they are easy. Everything always tastes better when someone else cooks it and the Instant Pot is virtually the same.
The other delicious fact about these Hot Dogs is that they are full of flavor. The onions, garlic and chili powder give them a smoky, spicy but not hot flavor.
The beer adds a whole different level of flavor as well.
So don’t settle for plain jane hot dogs on the stove or grill. Kick up your dogs with a punch of great flavor!

Your written recipe says to use a trivet in the pot but you don’t use one in the video.
Thanks for catching that! Either is fine. I have adjusted the instructions to reflect that.
Do you have to use beer. We never have this in our house
No, you can substitute with root beer or another type of soda. We did discuss this up in the post and gave some other great options.
