When it comes to “Must Haves” for a BBQ, baked beans are on the top of my list! if you have BOSTON BUTT you must have these beans!

You would be blackballed from most southern BBQ’s if you didn’t have them on your buffet table!

Now this version of Baked Beans is also good enough to serve as a whole meal! Packed with smoked sausage AND bacon, you have all of the protein you need!

This recipe for BBQ Baked Beans has so much to love. Sweet pork and beans coupled with crispy fried bacon and DO NOT forget, the wonderful spicy Conecuh Sausage. This side dish could be a meal in and of itself!

How to Make Smoked Sausage BBQ Baked Beans

~ Ingredients ~

~ Method ~

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Cook bacon and set aside to crumble when cools. Add to pan and cook onions until soft in bacon grease. Next, add sausage and garlic and cook just until browned.
  3. In a large casserole dish, add beans and cooked onions, garlic and sausage. Add in crumbled bacon, ketchup, brown sugar, maple syrup, ACV and Mustard. Mix well.
  4. Top with just a pinch of brown sugar.
  5. Bake for 45 to 60 minutes until bubbly and hot.

Tips and Tricks

Make Ahead!

You can cook your bacon and sausage/onion combo ahead of time and mix and cook. You can even make these entirely and store in the refrigerator until ready to reheat and serve.

How to Store.

These will keep in the refrigerator for up until a week.

How to reheat.

Reheat on a low 200 degree oven in servings is best. Heat just until warm. These are even good served cold or room temperature.

Ingredients

  • 2 slices of Bacon cooked and crumbled

  • 1 small red onion chopped

  • 2 tablespoons minced garlic

  • 1 large can of Pork and Beans 28 oz

  • 1/2 pound of Smoked Conecuh Sausage sliced

  • 1/3 cup Ketchup

  • 1/3 cup Brown Sugar plus a pinch

  • 1/4 cup Maple Syrup

  • 2 tablespoons Apple Cider Vinegar

  • 2 tablespoon prepared Mustard

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
