It has a soft, rich base that’s layered with chopped pecans and is then topped with a brown sugar pecan crumble. It’s a dessert recipe that the whole family will love no matter how many times you make it. Great for Sunday night dinners or a Holiday table, this pecan cobbler is sure to impress.
Ingredients
There’s two layers to this easy pecan cobbler but they overlap ingredients which means that you don’t need many!

See recipe card for full ingredient list and quantities.
Instructions
In just 45 minutes you’ll have this pecan cobbler ready for your guests to devour.
Preheat oven to 350.

Prep all ingredients and add 3/4 cup brown sugar to a large bowl.

Add in self rising flour.

Salt

Add milk to the dry mixture and mix well.

Follow with melted butter.

And vanilla. Mix well and spread in a greased 9 x 13 casserole dish evenly.

Top with chopped pecans.

To add texture and interest, I lay whole pecan halves all around the top of the chopped pecans.

Sprinkle with 1 cup of brown sugar evenly.

Add a pinch of salt to the top.

Add 1 teaspoon of vanilla to boiling water, mix carefully.

Slowly drizzle vanilla water over the top to cover the brown sugar layer.

Bake for 30 to 45 minutes until the center is slightly set. We want it to be a bit mushy in the middle! Cool slightly and serve warm.

Why Brooke loves this recipe!
Recipes are like antiques. They are meant to be handed down from one generation to another. Each one holding a special memory or nostalgic memory. Here is why we love this one!

You can make a cobbler out of most any fruit but this pecan cobbler is something different. Filled with texture, its dumpling center is not as moist as that of a fruit cobbler. Making it more like a really tender coffee cake. You really shouldn’t take my word for how good it is, you should make it today and find out on your own!
Variations and Substitutions
Most of the substitutions for the easy pecan cobbler are simple but can bring out new tastes.

- More crunch: If you want variety, mix in some pistachios or hazelnuts with the pecans.
- Chocolate: Stirring in mini chocolate chips gives you a gooey chocolate center.
- Serving: Serve your cobbler alongside rich vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for more indulgence.
