Rosemary Bread made Easy
Homemade bread making has never been my strong suit. With the exception of Homemade Biscuits, of course. I have tried every bread recipe and they just never come out like what you can buy in a bakery.
Over the years, I have seen a number of beer bread recipes. The use of beer is to help the bread rise. After many attempts I have perfected the easy, savory bread my bread loving heart has always desired.
Made with simple ingredients, self rising flour and beer, this quick bread can be modified to fit any tastes. The cheeses and rosemary are a personal Buttered Home favorite. So let’s tell you how to make it!
How to make Rosemary Beer Bread
Rosemary Beer Bread is really a quick mix it up and go recipe. You simply add all of your dry ingredients and cheese and seasonings, sift with a whisk and mix in your room temperature Beer. That’s it!
~ Ingredients ~
- self rising flour
- sugar
- salt
- light beer
- fresh rosemary
- parmesan cheese
- cheddar cheese
~ Method ~
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In a large bowl, add flour, sugar, salt, rosemary and cheeses. Use a whisk to sift together. Slowly pour in beer into the dry ingredients.
- Mix well just until combined. Do not over mix. Pour into a lightly greased loaf pan.
- Bake for 35-45 minutes. Cool in pan for 10 minutes and remove and allow to continue to cool on a wire rack. Enjoy!

This bread can be kept in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. This also freezes well for up to a month. Thaw in the refrigerator.

- 2 and 1/2 cups Self Rising Flour
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- Pinch of Salt
- 12 oz Room temperature Beer
- 1 tablespoon of fresh rosemary finely minced
- 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese grated fine
- 1/2 cup cheddar cheese grated

I get this question all of the time. If you wanted a dark bread, you could use root beer. You can also substitute club soda for the beer. You really need the yeasty-ness of the beer to enhance the flavor of the bread. If you are watching your alcohol intake, simply use a non alcoholic beer for best results.
