Fudge made easy in the Microwave

How to make fudge in the microwave

Easy Microwave Fudge is a great gift idea. I always talk about Food gifting. This is something we do on a regular basis. When loved ones are sick, have a new baby, etc. this is a common practice. Several years ago, I started Food gifting to my co workers at Christmas. Little treats neatly packaged are always a welcome gift.

This idea was given to me by my sweet Momma, Glory Jean. One of the first little tricks my Momma taught me was how to make goodies for Christmas. A little treat that can be given as a gift or to have on the table for company when they come by.

This Chocolate Fudge is easy and you don’t sacrifice any flavor when making it in the microwave. Sure, you can get a more complex recipe, but why would you? This Fudge can be made in a jiffy and is just as good.

~ Ingredients ~

  • 2 and 1/2 cups Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips

  • 2 tablespoons Butter

  • 1, 14 ounce can of Sweetened Condensed Milk

  • 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla extract

  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt

  • Pecans whole or chopped, Optional

~ Method ~

  1. In a large, Microwave safe bowl, combine chocolate chips, butter and sweetened condensed milk. Mix well. Microwave on high for 2 minutes. Carefully remove and stir.

  2. Place back in microwave and heat in 30 second increments stirring after each one, until all is melted and smooth. DO NOT OVERHEAT. This process usually only takes one or two increments, depending on wattage of microwave.

  3. Add vanilla and nuts if using and spread into a greased or lined with parchment 8X11 dish. Spread evenly. Refrigerate 1-2 hours until Fudge sets.

  4. Turn out on cutting board and cut into chunks. Store in an airtight container. Serve and Enjoy!

I may try this. I’ve tried to make microwave fudge before (20+ years ago), and it NEVER worked. We’ll see if I can get it right now. Thanks!
