    Crock Pot Broccoli Beef

Crock Pot Broccoli Beef is a tasty way to get that healthy eating done right. With sweet and spicy notes that accentuate the slow cooked beef, this meal will feel a lot more decadent than it really is.

    Crock Pot Broccoli Beef

Broccoli Beef in the Crock Pot

Beef and broccoli is a savory dish with deep notes of sesame, soy and brown sugar. Mostly favored in Asian cuisine, it has become a favorite here in the States too.

We love popping this in our crock pot to get the slow cooked beef without heating up the kitchen.

Adding the broccoli at the end keeps it crispy but gets it done to perfection. For an added bonus be sure to check out HOW TO BLANCH BROCCOLI.

Adding it at the end gives it just enough time to bathe in that beautiful sauce and become so much more than one of everyone's dreaded vegetable daily requirements.

How to Make Beef and Broccoli in the Crock Pot

Crock pot cooking really has no need for too much explanation or how to. It is very easy.

Aside from most recipes that are kind of dump and cook this one is a tad more complex.

You start off by slow cooking the beef in a sauce made from brown sugar, soy, beef broth garlic and sesame oil.

This liquid serves two purposes. The first being a braising liquid that flavors and tenderizes the meat.

With the addition of cornstarch, the liquid transforms into a succulent gravy that enhances the finished dish.

One of our favorite ways to serve it is over Rice. If you need an easy, foolproof method of cooking rice, look no further than OUR INSTANT POT RICE. So let's get on with the show!

    ~ Ingredients ~

    • 1 head of Broccoli florets, trimmed and separated
    • ½ cup brown sugar
    • 1 pound Sliced Beef Chuck
    • ½ cup low sodium soy sauce
    • 1 cup Beef broth
    • 2 tablespoons minced garlic
    • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
    • 2 tablespoons cornstarch

    ~ Method ~

    1. Place Beef in liner of Crock Pot in a single layer
    2. .In a separate bowl, combine beef broth, soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil and garlic. Mix well. Pour over beef in crock pot.Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours until beef is fork tender.
    3. Spoon out 2 tablespoons of cooking liquid and put in a small bowl. Add corn starch and mix well to form a thickening agent. Add back into crock pot and mix well. This will thicken the sauce.
    4. Add in Broccoli florets and mix well to coat with sauce. Cover and cook an additional 30 minutes on high.
    5. Serve over rice or noodles and enjoy!

Tips for the Best Beef and Broccoli

How can I make this healthy?

This has already been done for you. As easy as it is, it is also a great healthy option by using lean cuts of meat and good for you broccoli. Serve it with Cauliflower rice and you are golden.

    How do I store it?

Once it comes to room temperature, store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week. You can easily re heat in a boiler on top of the stove or in a casserole dish in the oven on a low temperature.

    Can I freeze it?

Yes. Once it is room temperature, place in a freezer safe container for up to a month. Allow to thaw at room temperature or overnight in the refrigerator and reheat in the oven at low heat.
