Broccoli Beef in the Crock Pot

Beef and broccoli is a savory dish with deep notes of sesame, soy and brown sugar. Mostly favored in Asian cuisine, it has become a favorite here in the States too. We love popping this in our crock pot to get the slow cooked beef without heating up the kitchen.

Adding the broccoli at the end keeps it crispy but gets it done to perfection. Giving it just enough time to bathe in that beautiful sauce and become so much more than one of everyone’s dreaded vegetable daily requirements.

How to Make Beef and Broccoli in the Crock Pot

Crock pot cooking really has no need for too much explanation or how to. It is very easy. Aside from most recipes that are kind of dump and cook this one is a tad more complex. You start off by slow cooking the beef in a sauce made from brown sugar, soy, beef broth garlic and sesame oil.

This liquid serves two purposes. The first being a braising liquid that flavors and tenderizes the meat. With the addition of cornstarch, the liquid transforms into a succulent gravy that enhances the finished dish. One of our favorite ways to serve it is over Rice. If you need an easy, foolproof method of cooking rice, look no further than HERE. So let’s get on with the show!
