Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Prepare a baking sheet with a little nonstick cooking spray or fit a baking rack inside.
Wrap each onion with one slice of bacon, careful to keep the overlapping to a minimum. Place wrapped onion on baking sheet.
12 slices red onion, 12 slices bacon
Sprinkle each onion with garlic powder, salt and pepper. Bake 15-20 minutes and carefully turn onions. Bake another 15-25 minutes until bacon is browned and crispy. Cool and serve.
