Old Fashioned Peach Cobbler

Peach Cobbler is a classic Southern recipe loved by many. It is one of those recipes that really is easier than folks think. Delicious Butter, Peaches and a dumpling filling make this a wonderful, nostalgic food!

Ingredients

  • ½ cup Butter melted
  • 1.5 cup Sugar

    1 cup for cobbler, ½ cup for top


  • 1 cup Self Rising Flour
  • pinch of salt


  • 1 cup Milk
  • 2 cups Peaches

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Spray a 9 x 13 casserole dish with non stick spray.

  • In a large bowl, mix flour, salt and 1 cup of the sugar well. Add Milk and melted butter.. Mix well just until most of the lumps are out. It may not be a necessarily smooth batter due to equal parts of flour, sugar and milk

  • Pour batter in prepared dish. Spoon in peaches evenly without stirring. Sprinkle remaining ½ cup of sugar on top.

  • Bake for 1 hour until bubbly and top is golden brown. Allow to cool before serving.
