Fried Pimento Cheese

Fried Pimento Cheese is a great little kick of an appetizer. Spicy and decadent, they are the perfect pop in your mouth food. Taking one recipe and making another is a great way to use up what you may have leftover in a delicious way.

Ingredients

  • 1 to 2 cups prepared Pimento cheese
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • ¼ cup Parmesan cheese
  • ½ cup plain flour
  • 1 cup Panko Bread crumbs
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Instructions

  • Using an ice cream scoop or large spoon, mold spoon fulls of pimento cheese into 1 inch balls. Place on a cookie sheet. Freeze for one hour.
  • Prepare 3 to 4 cups canola oil for frying. Heat oil to 350 degrees F. In 3 separate bowls, set up a breading station. In one mix eggs and water. Within the 2nd, mix flour, salt and pepper. In the 3rd mix panko and Parmesan cheese. Remove rolled pimento cheese from the freezer.
  • Dredge each ball into the flour mixture, then the egg and water mixture and finally the panko mixture.
  • Place back on sheet pan to rest while battering the remainder of pimento cheese.
  • Fry in batches for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown. Drain on a paper towel and cool. Serve with a ranch or spicy ranch sauce and Enjoy!
