In a microwave safe bowl, mix butter, sugar and syrup. Heat 1 and 1/2 minutes and stir. Heat again in 30 second intervals, stirring between each until boiling. Usually about 3 cycles depending on microwave.
1/2 cup brown sugar, 1/2 cup light corn syrup, 4 tablespoons butter
Once boiling, stir in baking soda, salt and vanilla and mix well. It will puff up. Pour over cereal and nuts and stir well to coat.

Bake for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes. Pour on a sheet pan and cool 5 minutes. Break apart and enjoy
