Ingredients
2green onionschopped
1& ½ Cup broth
2eggs or ½ cup liquid egg whites
1& ½ Cup water
I cup shredded cheddar cheese
¼Cupmilk
I cup uncooked grits
2tablespoonsbutter
I cup cubedcooked ham
Salt & pepper to taste
¼teaspoongarlic
⅛teaspoonred pepper flakes
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 .
Boil water and broth in large boiler. Stir in grits & reduce heat to low. Cover a cook 5 to 10 minutes, until thick.
In a separate bowl, lightly beat eggs and temper with warm grits. add all eggs, add ½ cup of cheese, milk & butter.
Mix well. Add salt, pepper, garlic and red pepper. Fold in onions and ham. Pour in a greased 9 x11 casserole dish. Top with remaining cheese. Bale 35 to 45 minutes.
