Ingredients

  • 2 green onions chopped
  • 1 & ½ Cup broth
  • 2 eggs or ½ cup liquid egg whites
  • 1 & ½ Cup water
  • I cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ¼ Cup milk
  • I cup uncooked grits
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • I cup cubed cooked ham
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic
  • teaspoon red pepper flakes

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 .
  • Boil water and broth in large boiler. Stir in grits & reduce heat to low. Cover a cook 5 to 10 minutes, until thick.
  • In a separate bowl, lightly beat eggs and temper with warm grits. add all eggs, add ½ cup of cheese, milk & butter.
  • Mix well. Add salt, pepper, garlic and red pepper. Fold in onions and ham. Pour in a greased 9 x11 casserole dish. Top with remaining cheese. Bale 35 to 45 minutes.
  • Cool for at least 10 minutes, serve and enjoy!
