How to Make a Homemade Pie Crust

Homemade Pie Crust is so easy and delicious you may never buy another store bought pastry! Using simple ingredients you can master the art of the homemade pie.

– Plain, All Purpose flour –Cold, unsalted butter, cubed – Ice water – Salt

INGREDIENTS

In a stand mixer with a paddle attachment, mix the butter, salt and flour until it forms a mealy or coarse texture.

STEP 1

Slowly drizzle in the ice water until a sort of ball forms, pulling away from sides of the bowl.

STEP 2

Put the dough on a floured surface and pat to form a disc. Flatten the disc out, fold the edges over one another to form a layer, flatten again and repeat the folding process one or two more times to form layers. End with a flattened disc. Wrap the disc in plastic wrap and chill for at least an hour. The longer the better.

STEP 3

After allowing the dough to rest in the refrigerator, take out of the package and place on a floured surface.

STEP 4

Use a well floured rolling pin to roll out dough about 9 to 10 inches in diameter.

STEP 5

Unroll in pie dish and use two fingers to form a decorative crust. Cook according to pie directions.
